Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's 51st birthday. She has had a very rough start to the new year but is handling it very well. On Christmas eve her mom had a stroke. She and my dad were on their way to my house for Christmas and Ashlyn's birthday when they received a call from my Grandad letting them know Grandma was not responding to him and the ambulance was on the way. They turned around and went back home to be with them. My Grandma is in rehab at a nursing home and is improving daily. My mom goes to sit with her daily to keep her company and see that she stays comfortable. She has unselfishly put her life on hold to care for her mom.

Ashlyn and I were able to drive down Christmas evening to be with my family. Ashlyn was good therapy for my Grandma and a distraction for my parents!
