Life, sweet life!

While the girls were in MDO yesterday I spent the morning at our new house with the home inspector. I haven't been in the house for a month and a half so it was fun to look at all the little details I forgot. And some bigger details I didn't know existed. Like a large window in the stair well! Ha! The house passed the inspection with flying colors and our inspector commented several times that we were getting a great house. We were very pleased to hear that!

Yesterday I opened the fridge to find a can of pepsi that had been sitting right under the vent on the top shelf that froze then exploded! It sent pepsi on the top of the fridge, on the inside of the door, the back of the fridge with drips running all the way down to the bottom shelf, and of course puddled on the shelf, and everything on that shelf covered with dark syrup. What a mess!

My poor mind has too many things running through it and I'm starting to do silly things! Yesterday I forgot to put a diaper on Aubrey during nap time!! She woke up soaked!! All of her bedding was soaked, the cloth part of her bed rail was soaked, which dripped down onto her bed skirt and onto the carpet!! This was very shortly after I cleaned up the Pepsi mess!!

Ashlyn loves loves loves crafts. She will sit for a long time and color. The childcare workers at the fitness center comment on Ashlyn's attention to detail when she colors there.
Here she had markers, scissors, and several coloring books and was going to town. She did this for several hours three days in a row. It was a gigantic mess to clean up each day but she had a blast, so it was worth it!

This little beauty looks all innocent and sweet but she is a stinker pants! When she was an infant she was a super easy baby. Slept fantastic at night, loved napping (still does), content to play by herself or with us, loved to snuggle, and on and on and on. I told Phillip that I just knew she would be the one to give me a run for my money! Boy howdy I was right!!

She LOVES to pester Ashlyn, loves it. She will snatch something of Ashlyn's and take off running. She runs so fast her body has trouble keeping up so all of her limps are flying in all directions. And the louder Ashlyn screams the faster she runs. It is hilarious! I always have to regain my composure before I get on to her.
Aubrey is not afraid of animals. She will walk up run up to an animal and start petting it. We have a family of rabbits that live under our shed in the back yard. They have been there since Ashlyn was Aubrey's age. The other day the girls were playing in the back yard while I was working on dinner. They came running to the door and hollered through the screen door that there was a bunny laying in the grass and was being really still. So, I sent Daddy to go investigate the "really still bunny laying in the grass". Ashlyn then said that Aubrey touched the "really still bunny laying in the grass". I'd bet all my money that if Ashlyn hadn't been there Aubrey would have brought me the "really still bunny laying in the grass" like she's holding that baby doll up there. Ick!
P.S. Daddy took care of the bunny...

Have you seen this in the produce section? It's fresh basil in a squeeze tube? It is almost as good as fresh. I have several recipes that call for fresh basil and dried just doesn't cut it so I would have to wait until summer when it's in season or pay an arm and a leg for it out of season.

This is the hood of my van. That is my thumb resting on the hood of my van. That white dot is a chunk of pain missing!! I have no clue how or when that happened. Thankfully I have some touch up paint.
Don't pay attention to my crazy hair blowing in the wind no the dirt specks all over the van, this was before the car wash.

This was during the car wash... Aubrey was terrified!!! She's not afraid of strange dogs or large horses but she is afraid of car washes.
Bless her heart!!

Ashlyn loves to make her own PB&J's. She says her's are better than the ones I make. :) She's such an independent thing!

I never thought I would see this day. Aubrey is eating salad! She is slowly adding more foods to her "like" list. It all boils down to "want to" with her. She has a very care free, funny, lazy personality but she will do only what she wants to do. And eating is very much a control thing for her!

I'm off to mark some more things off my loooooong list of things to do.

Things I'm loving

There are a couple things I am loving right now. They are all completely unrelated though. :)

I am so excited to move into our new house! I'm anxious to redecorate and have a fresh new "canvas". Our new home is very much move in ready and has awesome features like chunky crown molding through out the upstairs and upgraded light fixtures but there are always touches you want to do to make it your own. I'm enjoying looking at decorating blogs and of course Pinterest for ideas. My new favorite "time waster" blog is
The Yellow Cape Cod.

For some odd reason little girl dresses don't come with bloomers around the age they start wearing undies. I've had the hardest time finding bloomers for big girls or shorts short and tight enough not to be noticeable under cotton dresses. So I had the bright idea to buy little dance shorts for Ashlyn to wear under her dresses.

She loves them and they are super soft and comfy. I think she liked them even more when I told her they were dancing shorts. :)
I got her shorts here if your interested. They have free shipping and free returns.

Both girls love it when I am lazy in the morning and give them cereal and milk for breakfast. Their favorite has always been Kashi Honey Sunshine. It's healthy and just sweet enough for their liking. Although they love to eat my bran flakes every now and then.

I just recently discovered Quaker Whole Hearts. It tastes almost like Honey Nut Cheerios but without high fructose corn syrup. And it comes in a bigger box than Kashi. Score!

And lastly, this new recipe for tilapia.

Our week

We've had a rainy week that's kept us inside quite a bit. It's no fun trying to load and unload two kids while it's raining so it's just easier to stay inside and play.

We did go over to our friend's house Tuesday morning for a play date. There were 11 kids ages 2 months to 5 years old. Ashlyn was the oldest there, that feels odd to me. We had a good time! All the mommies sat around in comfy clothes drinking coffee while the kids scattered every single toy that they owned through out the house. It's so funny how us mom's like to get together to have adult conversations but when there are 11 kids we can't complete a sentence without being interrupted by a little one needing a drink or stopping someone from playing in the potty!

Friday we went for a walk and enjoyed the beautiful weather, me and the four girls! :) It's kinda hard to tell but Ashlyn is carrying her baby on her hip like a real momma.

I just love spring weather! I'm always excited the first time I can put my flip flops on and take walks before nap time!

This is quite random but it's too cute not to include. Aubrey discovered she had pockets in her little summer dress. She walked around all day with her hands in her pockets. I always loved putting Ashlyn in this little cotton dress. Doesn't it look so comfy?

Monday afternoon I was mopping the kitchen floors when I heard a couple car doors slam. A couple seconds later I walked toward the living room to make sure someone wasn't about to ring the doorbell and wake up my napping toddler and much to my shock someone was peeking in my windows. Like with their hands cupped around their eyes looking in my house! We saw each other at the same time and startled each other equally as much. They hopped back in their car and left quickly. Two days later they were back with their realtor, to look from the inside this time. Ha! I can't imagine peeking into windows in a home that obviously looks occupied from the outside! I'm glad they didn't pull that stunt at 9pm when Phillip wasn't home! I would have wet my pants and called the cops!!

Phillip has the day off tomorrow. He took a vacation day to de-stress from the past two month's madness. I'm so excited to have a long weekend as a family! I can't remember the last vacation day Phillip has had that didn't involve a commitment or packing up the van and traveling somewhere. And the rain is supposed to stop and it's going to be beautiful!!

I've been busy...

*Life has been anything but normal lately. But I'm not complaining! It's my life and it's beautiful!

*Our house is still on the market. We have had a showing or two a week with great realtor feedback. It just hasn't been "the house" for the buyers that have walked through. We are being patient, it will sell soon enough.

*I have come to the conclusion that our family is just one big tornado. Our house will be immaculate when we leave the house for a showing. Within 5 minutes of us being back it's near disaster. Well, maybe not quite that bad but it seems that way.

*Phillip was out of town for 8 days doing a large show in Orlando. They were two guys down and Phillip was doing the work of three people. He worked just shy of 150 hours this last pay period. He was exhausted but everything fell into place perfectly and they had a great show.

*My hard working and talented hubby also got a promotion this week! Same department and team but he will be leading his team now. He is so stink'n good at what he does!

*The girls and I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa a couple days while Phillip was gone. We were all sick with sinus problems and poor Aubrey ended the week with an ear infection. We weren't the best house guests while we were there. :(

*I am loving the warm weather! I had to make a shopping trip to buy Ashlyn some cooler clothes and wash a tub of hand me downs for Aubrey. It was close to 80 degrees Tuesday and the girls were in long sleeves and pants!

*Aubrey doesn't know any different now but when she gets older I'm going to hate buying Ashlyn all new clothes each season and then just dumping hand me down's on Aubrey. Girls love new clothes and I don't want Aubrey to feel like she gets the shaft, but there is no sense in letting all of Ashlyn's good hand me down's go to waste.

*Yesterday we were running errands and while I was at the bank tending to house business Aubrey noticed my feet. I had sandals that showed about 90% of my feet. She thought it was hilarious and kept playing with my toes! She's gotten used to me wearing warm winter shoes or socks I guess.

*My brother is getting married in a couple weeks. Ashlyn is going to be the flower girl. She is stoked! I told her the other day that we needed to practice and she told me she didn't need to practice, she already knows what to do. Sassy thing!

*Ashlyn is registered for kindergarten. Let's just change the subject...

*Phillip and I went on a date Saturday. The girls played at Makenna and Brynlee's house. I'm not sure who had more fun!

*While on our date I found a dress for my brothers wedding. It was so simple yet so pretty. I didn't even want to take it off the rack because the price tag made me nauseous but Phillip insisted I just try it on. Then he insisted he buy it for me. I love it! Oh, and it ended up being 30% off!

*Aubrey has a constant allergy runny nose right now. I am constantly wiping her nose! At lunch yesterday I caught her using her spoon to scrape the shot off her upper lip and eating it! Barf!!!

*A couple weeks ago Ashlyn wasn't feeling well on a MDO day. She wasn't sick just dizzy and yuck from sinus drainage. So, Aubrey went to school and Ashlyn ran errands with me. Apparently she just realized if she was sick she could hang out alone with me. She had many ailments this morning while getting ready for school!

*It's almost time to start packing this place up. We close May 1. After we get back in town from the wedding I'm hitting it hard core. Too bad we aren't military... I would love to have free packers and movers!

*My dad was in the military and I distinctly remember the movers unloading their truck into our new home in California and watching a round mirror that attaches to my mom's antique dresser go rolling off the truck onto the street. I can still hear my mom screaming! Something always gets broken. I cringe thinking about what broken item I'll end up with.

*I haven't gotten out my nice camera and taken pictures and played around with it in a while. I need to stop whipping out my phone to take pictures during the day. *Note to self*

*I think both the girls went through a little growth spurt. They seem bigger, taller, and have longer hair. They are both proud of their longer hair. Aubrey goes around saying "I Punzel, Daddy's E-Gene, and you mudder". For those that don't speak toddler that's "I am Rapunzel, Daddy is Eugene, and you are mother." She can't quite say the full alphabet without jumbling some letters but she knows her princesses. Thanks to her big sister! :)

*While at the park Aubrey, Ashlyn, and Makenna were walking along a little rock ledge. Aubrey was in front and I asked her if she was the leader. She said "no, I a princess". Oye!

*Did I mention Ashlyn went to the dentist last month? Probably not since I haven't blogged since last month. She did awesome and had perfect teeth! Aubrey was very curious. She stood on her tip toes next to the table and watched. And also asked a million questions. Very loudly, she talks a lot and very loud. "SHE BRUSHING ASHES TEETH?" "WHAT SHE DOING?" "ASHES WEARING GLASSES?" "WHAT SHE DOING?" "SHE BRUSHING ASHES TEETH?". All the hygienist stations are in one room. Everyone was snicking at Aubrey. Everyone always knows when Aubrey enters the room!
