Life Lately

*I knew life would be very busy for a long while once we put an offer on our new home and put our old home on the market. It's still very busy even one month after moving in.

*The girls had their last day of MDO a couple weeks ago. Can you see the pure "sass" of knowing she is officially a big girl in Ashlyn's face? It was water day for the big kids so she had her flip flops on and a towel stashed in her backpack, ready for a fun day with her friends.

This was their first day of school back in September. Aubrey was so stoked about her very own pack-pack (lunch box) that she wouldn't look at me for a picture.

Then she had to point out Ashlyn's pack-pack.

Good gracious someone make these girls stop growing!!

*I painted our downstairs family area, hall, and bathroom this week. The whole house is painted in flat paint, which isn't very livable and shows so much wear and tear, so slowly I plan to paint every inch of wall in this house. Our walls are very textured and it took a lot of paint and a lot of time to get them all covered. Whew! I love how it turned out, so it was all worth it.

*And whilst I painted, the rest of the house disassembled itself. I'm sure there were two little munchkins that helped disassemble it. Oh well, it's job security! :)

*We closed on our old house this week. It's still a very surreal feeling. It didn't quite hit me once we moved out because I still went over to clean and check on it a couple times throughout the month. But now that the old keys and garage door openers aren't sitting on my counter and I can't walk through the doors again if I wanted to, it's kinda sad. It was a great, great house! We had completely outgrown it and I would often fuss about being crammed in there, but deep down I loved that house. A lot of memories were made in there.

*Every single corner we turned during this home buying and selling process we could see God's hand guiding us. Even this week, at the very end of the process as we signed the papers and handed over the keys our realtor shared with us that some homes in that range are not being appraised for what they are selling for. Basically sellers are having to lower their price after the contract is signed so the buyers can get their loan approved. Thank you God for another answer to one more of our many requests for this process!

*Ashlyn is taking swimming lessons again this summer. Her and her best friend, Makenna, are in the same class together. The girls will love being together each week and Aubrey and Makenna's little sister will have a great time playing while we sit and wait. Ashlyn does NOT like swim lessons and thinks they are a waste of time, but she started the season out much braver than last year. So we are definitely seeing some progress.

*Today we will make our sixth trip to Lowe's since we moved in. Yes, sixth. I'm sure we have taken care of an employees salary for the month. Sheesh!

*Everyone is quiet, taking naps this afternoon. I think I need one too! ;)

Thank you for the up date Blog! They always make my day, and Auntie Nana Sherrie's too.
What a difference from first day to the last day of MDO! (Aubrey sure looks like her Mama!)
Anxious to see you guys next month!
