An Update

Thank you to everyone that has been praying for my Uncle Jim after his brain injury earlier this month. After spending 5 days in ICU and Intermediate Care and then 8 days in rehab he was able to come home from the hospital on Friday. He is doing very well but is still not completely healed. His wife was saying he probably at about 85%-90%.

He is able to do all of the basic things; feed himself, shower and dress himself, carry on a normal conversation for a limited amount of time, but is not allowed to drive or cook for himself. Physically, he is doing well, his fractured shoulder and twisted and bruised ligaments in his ankle are healing. Mentally, he is doing better but is still having trouble with concentration, ability of perception, and emotions. There are small things about his personality that are different and only time will tell if these new "traits" will stay or go away.

He is supposed to be in a calm and quiet environment to allow his brain to continue to heal properly. He is also doing physical and mental exercises several hours a day. He is going to follow up with his trauma team in three weeks and are praying he will be released to return to his normal activities.

God made our bodies so complex and He knows exactly how to fix and heal Jim's brain. We are trusting in Him to completely heal his brain!

Thank you Becca for sharing this in your blog. I got to see him Monday and it was so good to see him doing so well. He walked slowly 1/2 way around the circle outside. Grandma & Grandad got to see him for the 1st time since the accident. I know it made them feel much better.
