This month has been absolutely crazy!
A couple weeks ago we decided it was the right time for us to look for another home and get our home ready to sell. Phillip and I bought our current house 7 1/2 years ago. When we purchased our home we thought it was huge. Gosh, how would we ever fill up all of this space!?! Then we had Ashlyn and we took our guest bed out and just moved everything into one room to make the other a nursery. Then a couple years later we had another sweet addition. And... our house no longer felt so big. One of our main focuses is to honor God with our finances. For us this means not buying material possessions simply to have more material possessions. So, this also meant using every square inch of our home to the best of our ability.
We approached buying a new home very carefully. I have been hinting and downright blurting out that I would love a home with more space for a while now but my wise husband kept telling me to wait. A couple weeks ago we finally felt like now was to the time to move forward. We started praying and looking at homes and considering school zones.
A couple weeks ago we looked at a house that was for sale by owner and I fell in love with it. Absolutely fell in love with it. I was ready to jump in feet first but then started to get cold feet and talked myself out of it. You can't buy the first house you look at! So, I started to make excuses. It's not big enough, I don't think it's the house for us, I'm not sure about the layout of the living space. (The house is almost double the size we are in now and it is perfect for us. I was trying to talk myself out of it.) We looked at three or four more homes and I told Phillip that I just loved the first house and couldn't stop thinking about it. He also loved it, so we decided to look at it again. Last Thursday we went and looked at it again and it felt like HOME. We made our offer and Saturday we finished up the last of the details with the owner. This house is everything we needed in a home plus so much more! God has blessed us! There are so many details about the home I adore!
We put our house on the market Sunday and it has been a whirlwind ever since. Our realtor suggested we paint the girl's rooms a neutral color and move some items out of our house to make it look larger (remember I said we used every square inch of our home to live in?). So, Sunday the play room went from Princess Pink to Natural Linen. Monday I took several boxes to a storage facility and have more items to go tomorrow. I have spent hours, literally, on the phone with bankers, assessors, inspectors, and title companies trying to line everything up. I am exhausted, but excited to get things going!
We will close on our new home the end of April. We have faith that our home will sell before or shortly after. The availability of starter homes in our area is very saturated and it's a hard sell. But we know God's plan and timing is perfect so we are not worried. We know we are right in the middle of His will for our lives.
I better get to more deep cleaning before nap time is over and the littles are hanging on my legs again. ;)

So excited for you guys! I told Dad that we should go up there and help y'all move! I just got one of those looks. I don't know if it's the "help move" or the trip. He doesn't care for either!
