*On Thursday's Aubrey gets out of MDO one hour before Ashlyn gets out of school. It doesn't make much sense for us to go home only to turn around and get in car line for Ashlyn. So Aubrey naps in the car while we wait. Sweet baby!
*I just finished painting our kitchen table. The finish on the top was in rough shape and I wasn't too crazy about the color of the stain anymore. It was a long process. Apparently wet paint attracts 3 year old children like a magnet so I only had a small window to paint each day. Painting the chairs was very tedious. I distressed the edges so when it starts to get roughed up again it will just all blend in. I'm thrilled with how it turned out.
*The girls found a snail this afternoon. I had to work hard to keep my gag reflex under control.
*Aubs had her yearly check up this week. It was the highlight of her week, actually probably the month. To say she loved it is a huge under statement. She hid behind the table and made her doctor come find her when he came in the room. I wanted to cringe when she crawled back there but figured the corner behind the exam table had the least amount of germs in the whole place.
*This is the best coffee creamer ever. Hands down, the best. When I went back to walmart this week they were out. I was kinda ticked. Apparently everyone else loves it to. So I settled for "S'mores". I like it when all the seasonal flavors come out.
*Ashlyn bought a little lip gloss and nail polish pack with her own money. She painted her and Aubrey's nails. I'm sure there will be many many more nail polishing sessions together in the coming years.
*I just LOVE having two girls. Just love it. I always wanted two girls but never would voice it. I always said I wanted one of each gender but secretly hoped for two girls. They are just so much fun!
*Each week Ashlyn learns about a new letter. For a homework assignment that week they have to draw and label several things that starts with that letter. Ashlyn chose okra for O. That's my girl!!
*Aubrey is now my grocery helper. She thinks she is too big for the shopping cart. She is a good walker but it makes the trips much longer. She has her list and checks it twice. All the elderly shoppers just ooh and awe over her. And she just waves and chats with them. She's such a ham.
*On a regular basis Ashlyn comes home with a journal page. They have to draw a picture and write about their picture. They have to sound out their words without the teacher's help. They are my favorite thing Ashlyn brings home. They have a journal book they keep at school and I am dying to look through it at the end of the year.
*Life is so busy. I thought it would be calmer with one in school. It only makes sense, one child is gone 7 hours of the day so that means less work. Wrong! I feel like I am running from one thing to the next. I am starting to forget things. I have always written down appointments and important things but all the other stuff I could remember. Not any more. I'm going to have to start making more detailed lists.
