We've had a fun week! We Ashlyn had school twice and we had two play dates. Today we are just playing at home. Before I share a couple photos from my phone I have a cute story I want to remember.
The girls were playing while I was in the kitchen deep cleaning my stove and counter tops. Ashlyn was in Aubrey's room with the door shut and Aubrey was standing outside the door knocking and saying "knock knock, open door" over and over. So I walked around the corner and hollered for Ashlyn to unlock the door and let Aubrey in. Over the next minute I could hear Ashlyn calling me but I could tell by her voice she wasn't needing me right away. So I finished what I was doing and walked to Aubrey's door which was still locked. I sternly told her "I thought I told you to unlock this door". And a little quiet voice said "Mom, can I tell you the truth?". (We have had discussions about telling me the truth even when it means you will still get in trouble. So "can I tell you the truth" is her way of asking for a lesser punishment for coming out with the truth first) So, I respond "yes, please tell me the truth". And Ashlyn says "well, I locked Aubrey's door and then got in her baby bed. Now I can't get out.". I couldn't stop laughing!! She was too chicken to leap out of Aubrey's bed!!
Last night the girls and I watched Charlie Brown after bath time. We love salted popcorn and mini m&m's, a little sweet and salty. Aubrey mostly loves the m&m's. :)
I bought a bag of Clementines at Walmart. The girls have gobbled down seven of them! Four last night and three at lunch today. Aubrey insists on trying to peel her's too!
The other day a grasshopper managed to hop in the house when the girls were going in and out. Ashlyn thought the best way to trap it was with my sauce pan. Aubrey was just the cheerleader, err I mean fairy.
There is no such thing as a manly trip to Lowe's for Phillip if he drags us girls along. Aubs had to take "Katie" along and Ashlyn was toting Slinky Dog (you know, from Toy Story). We're quite the sight!
I'm always finding surprises in the washer. The other week I made $8 when I washed jeans. That'll teach someone to clean out his pant's pockets next time! ;) Today I heard a rattle when I picked up Ashlyn's jeans. In her pocket was a play potato chip and "shiny" rocks from our front flower bed.
