Life, sweet life

*Ashlyn was able to go to MDO twice this week and twice next week also. They had a pumpkin patch party this week and her Halloween party next week on days she normally doesn't go, so her teacher let her come and join in for free. Aubrey stayed home with me and loved it! I organized the girls summer and fall clothes and Aubs loved having free reign over all the toys.

*Ashlyn's MDO teacher was telling me how much Ashlyn has come out of her shell and has such a personality. She's no longer shy and reserved. I know she is going to thrive in Kindergarten next year. She is so ready she can hardly stand it, mamma is so not ready I can hardly stand it.

*Aubrey has been telling us I love you on her own for about a month now. She will walk up and hug our leg and say "wuv you mommy". Yesterday when I picked her up out of her kitchen chair she put her teeny little arms around my neck, kissed my cheek, and said "wuv you mommy". Uh, melt my heart!!

*How can it be so close to the holidays! I am making my lists and checking them twice. I'm hoping to get a HUGE chunk of my shopping done in November so I can enjoy my December.

*Aubrey is able to stand her ground better than any two year old I know. She is a very selective eater. She will not even give in to bribery! If there is dessert being offered after dinner the girls have to eat good first (not clear their plates, we can tell when they have eaten good). Aubrey will flat our turn down dessert if it means eating something she doesn't like. Considering every tooth is her mouth is a sweet tooth, this is a big deal. This girl knows what she wants and doesn't want!!

*The school we want Ashlyn to attend fills up very fast so we have to register very soon, like really soon. I'm not ready to do that yet. I was hoping to put that off for many more months. Did I mention I'm not ready for kindergarten??

*Aubrey is starting to call Ashlyn "Ashen" instead of "Ashes". It makes me sad, I love to hear her say Ashes! Phillip and I have even started calling her Ashes sometimes too.

*Phillip is at the church for Worship practice. I am sitting here watching the World Series. Yeah, I know, I'm even surprised by it. I guess my Texas roots run deeper than I thought! :)

*We are getting closer to the girl's sharing a room. My goal is to be all moved around and set before the holidays. I am doing two twin beds and wanted the bedding to match. Have you priced bedding, cute good quality bedding!?! And multiply is times two. So I decided I would make their bedding. It will be cheaper and I can make something I love, not just like.
I purchased duvet inserts on sale for $20 each and am going to make duvet covers. That way they are easier to wash and when the girls are ready for a change I can just put on a new cover.

This is the fabric I ordered from fabric.com. Love that site!

And it will look something like this...

It won't be hard. Just lots and lots of straight lines.

*We've had a busy week! Many of our days have been filled with playing with great friends! So fun! I'm looking forward to a good weekend!
