Family Day

We had a great Valentines Day yesterday. Not a romantic day, just a good day together as a family. Phillip had to get something from the guitar store so we went into town after breakfast. Ashlyn has never been to a guitar store with Phillip, I'm sure you can understand why, so she was fascinated the whole time. She wanted to "play" all the guitars and everything was "mommy, it cool".
These are pictures from when she was about a year old. You can see how much she loves to sing and play guitar with Daddy.

After the guitar store we went to Petco, or as we call it, the free zoo. Ashlyn absolutely loves it there! They always have cats in cages for adoption and she just laughs and sticks her finger in there to pet them. You can tell by the looks on the poor kitties faces that they are thinking "please don't adopt me"! There were lots of pet owners with their dogs and she loved watching them walk around the store.
Phillip was so wonderful to help me around the house yesterday. He helped me get caught up on laundry and cleaned up the kitchen after breakfast and dinner. He knows how little energy I have had lately and knows that a messy house and over flowing laundry basket drive me crazy so it was so sweet of him to help out.
I found really good ribeye steaks on sale this week so Phillip grilled them for dinner. I love it when Phillip grills, he always does such a good job. I made baked potatoes in the crock pot as one of our sides. This was the first time I have done them that way and they were excellent. They came out perfect, they were cooked all the way through and very moist and creamy. You prepare them as you would for the oven. Scrub them clean, prick them with a fork, and wrap them in foil. You cook them for 6-8 hours on low or 4-6 hours on high. It is perfect for summer because you won't heat your kitchen up just to make potatoes.
