This and That

I guess what they say is true, you start showing earlier with your second baby! I am only 9 weeks along and already have a little pooch. I can still button my pants, most of the time, because they sit low on my hips so hopefully I won't be in maternity clothes for a couple more weeks.

Ashlyn and I stayed home and cleaned house today. Notice I said Ashlyn and I. I was busy mopping the floors and she kept following me around watching me then as I went to mop the kitchen she grabbed the mop handle and said "I do it". Oh, if I had a dollar for every time I have heard that statement the past month. So I took a deep breath and handed the mop over.

She would do about two swipes then swish the mop back in the bucket of water and thankfully let me help her wring it out. She was rather upset after about 15 minutes when I told her it was my turn. She still tried to hang on the the handle and "help". And I wonder why it takes me so long to clean the house! I do have to admit she is helpful at times. Monday when we got back from the grocery store my friend called as I was putting up the groceries. In the 3 minutes we talked on the phone Ashlyn had taken all the canned goods out of the bags and put them where they belong. I was rather impressed everything in there was supposed to be in there.

Ashlyn is going to spend the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa this weekend. Phillip's mom is meeting me half way tomorrow evening to drop her off. I won't tell Ashlyn where we are going until we get there or she will drive me bananas the whole time asking where "Banma" and "Gampa" are. Phillip told Ashlyn earlier this week she was going to visit Grandma and Grandpa so she has been asking about it. Phillip's sister, Heather, and her little girl Madelyn stayed with her parents a couple months this winter while her husband was in California for Marine Recruiter Training. Ashlyn got used to seeing Madelyn, who is close to Ashlyn's age, for several months at Grandma and Grandpa's so she still thinks "An Hever and Ma-lyn" live there now. She keeps insisting that they will be there this time around and I know she will be heart broken when she finds out her little buddy isn't there. I'm sure she will be so spoiled she'll quickly get over the disappointment.
