Random bits of nothing

My life never seems to be lacking in the entertainment department, as I'm sure every other parent raising young children would say.

Aubrey never resists time out. I think seeing Ashlyn "do" time out helps. I always have to resist the urge to giggle and just squeeze her instead of discuss why we're in time out and how we should act next time.

See what I mean? Isn't that just too cute?

Yesterday Ashlyn kept scratching at her legs...
Ashlyn: Mom, why do my legs itch?
Me: I'm not sure.
Ashlyn: I think I have termites

I hurt my knee during Zumba yesterday. I was so mad! I iced it yesterday and it felt a smidge better but by the end of the day it was really bothering me. Then when I woke up it felt good, not normal but better, but now mid-day it's hurting. Ugh, like I have time to sit around with ice on my knee!

Aubrey has used the potty four times in the last three days. The first time Ashlyn came and told me that Aubrey wanted to use the potty and sure enough she went. I started contemplating having Ashlyn do the potty training since she's always the one Aubrey goes to! :) Then yesterday when Ashlyn was getting ready for bed Aubrey wanted to sit on the potty after Ashlyn. Phillip thought it was just for "fun" but she did her business. Then I took her three times this morning and she went two of those times. She still wets her diaper without thinking twice about it but she can obviously identify when she needs to go. With Ashlyn I was excited to start the process and get out of diapers. Now, I'm not too excited about the first couple days of wetting all over the floor and having to watch her like a hawk. I'm not so naive this time!

Ashlyn is so excited for Aubrey's birthday she can hardly stand it. She asks everyday if tomorrow is Aubrey's birthday. She keeps saying that Aubrey is going to be a big girl baby. There are many different levels of childhood in Ashlyn's book- little tiny baby, little baby, baby, big girl baby, little girl, girl, and big girl.

Aubrey is absolutely ADORABLE in time out! I'd want to take her out and cuddle her too. :) Hope your knee gets better, friend. :)

You girls make me laugh! Having raised you, I just laugh when you tell me things that the girls do that you use to do. And by the way that looks like little Rebecca in that corner:) I sure hope your knee gets better.
